There’s a perception you buy a Facebook ad and then all of a sudden you experience massive growth and crazy ROI. But as Nicholas points out, “If you have a shitty sales process, Facebook ads aren’t going to help you out at all. You need a good process.”

Nicholas claims his success is not because he and his team know the technicalities of Facebook better than anyone else, it’s that they focus on aspects most people don’t talk about. Someone could be doing all the right things technically, but still not getting good results. The problem usually lies in the offer on the other side of that ad and by tweaking it, it could change a $12 lead to a $2 lead.

3. Stop pressing the ‘boost’ button

If there’s one thing Nicholas Kusmich wants you NOT to do on Facebook, is boost your posts. “It’s Facebook’s way of making money from people who don’t know what they’re doing. You’re donating to Facebook and getting nothing in return.” Instead, Nicholas recommends taking that money and either invest it in learning to do paid advertising properly yourself or hire someone to do it for you.

5. Watch for new trends but don’t be too quick to jump on the bandwagon.

When it comes to new trends in social advertising, Nicholas advises that anything new in 2017 is probably something you shouldn’t jump on. “I’m a slow adopter,” he says. “I let the market decide if it’s worth paying attention to.” Nicholas claims that 90% of the revenue they’ve driven for clients have come from old school newsfeed link ads. “Watch new things, but stay true to the things that work.”
